Water Source Protection Week: Purple Martin Lake

❓Did you know that Central Iowa Water Works owns the Purple Martin Lake Water Resource Area?

🚲Purple Martin Lake was once used as a sand, rock and gravel quarry. Through a decade old agreement, the area is now managed in partnership with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and serves as both a future source of drinking water and a public recreation area.
